Tools and Hardware Reviews of Streamlight 52103 Task-Light 4-1/2-Inch Three AAA Flashlight, Gun Metal GrayCustomer Review: Very beautiful and well made Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very beautiful and well made flashlight.
I'm not going to repeat what it says in the "official" description, but I'm just going to add a few personal notes:
- When you pick up this flash light it feels solid, unlike the other cheap plastic ones. It feels somewhat like a Mini-Maglite except that it is much thicker. The handle of the Mini-Maglite (2 AA batteries) that I have is a little less than ¾" diameter, and this one (3 AAA batteris) is about 1-¼" diameter. Overall it feels just right in your hand.
- It has only one button on the side which controls all the functions.
Push 1 time, turns on normally at full power. If you let it on for about 2 seconds or more, when you push again the button, the light turns off.
However, if you push the button again within about one second (or faster) it turns on the "low beam" which all it does is to cut the power to the LED, so it is not so bright saving battery power.
Next time when you push the power button the light turns off.
Also, if you push and hold the button for about 3 seconds, the strobe is turned on (the light flashes about 2-3 times per second). When you push again it turns off.
- The beam is not adjustable, but I did not find the need to adjust it. The light is pretty uniform at about 30 to 50 feet distance.
I don't know how long the batteries are going to hold, but I have used it quite a few times for about four months now and I don't see a significant depreciation on the intensity of the light.
- I like that the battery cap at the end of flash light screws on very nicely and tight, and with the big O-ring included seals it nicely.
Also it is worthy to note that the batteries don't just go in the flash light but they mount in a special support (see the pictures I uploaded)
Overall it is a very nice flashlight and I prefer it over the Mini-Maglite 2AA that I have.
I am sure it would make a nice present for most of the guys, and surely for some girls that know to appreciate... a flash light.
The only negative is the price, specially since I paid for it about $15 more than the price shown now on amazon.com.
Oh well, I still love it.
