I was a fan of the Stlyus model since it came out but always hated the fact that the AAAA batteries were expensive and you couldn't always find them. I also didn't like that the LED was exposed on the Stylus, so if you dropped it (like I did frequently) it would break or loosen the LED and then it would flicker and eventually not work at all.
The Sylus Pro is a perfect improvement: sealed LED with a regular lens, rugged case construction, and it uses AAA batteries that can be purchased anywhere (Hint: I use Energizer lithiums in mine - they last a long time and the light stays bright).
I work on cars for a living and this light has been indespensable. It's very bright and it can take a beating.

I have purchased quite a few small LED lights as I work often in low lit surroundings. The Stylus Pro and its 24 lumen capacity is much more than you would think this little pen light could ever produce. However, no matter the size of the room, this light can illuminate it. Comes with a handy clip that allows for each attachment. Can also be placed on key rings, key chains, or a simple lanyard. Has been put through the elements and works like it did when originally purchased. Have yet to change the battery after about 500 hours of use. The mini stylus with its 20 lumen capacity takes up less space in your pocket but the extra 4 lumen of light and >$10 price difference make this Flashlight the ultimate.Customer Review: Simply the Best!

It's a good solid pen flashlight. I don't see how one could be any better anytime soon. I have both the 6-1/4 Stylus and the Stylus Pro. I use the 6-1/4 at home and the Pro at work and I love them both. About the only thing I could find about the Pro that I didn't like is when the batteries are changed put a cloth between the case and clip. The clip is tight and tends to scratch the case when turned to remove the batteries. Otherwise no problems. Good candle power and distant for its size. It's a great buy! I ocassionally need a flashlight at work, but it needed to be small and portable. This Streamlight Stylus Pro, at about the size of a large pen filled the bill perfectly. It has plenty of light for my needs at 28 Lumens, and I can carry it in my uniform shirt pocket. It's alway there when I need it. It runs on two AAA alkaline batteries, and has about seven hours of run time. It is made from aluminum and has the clicky type switch on the rear. It would probably be a handy light for inside your car too. It is much less bulky than a Mini Mag. If size and portability are issues for you, and 28 Lumens can fill your needs, I would highly recommend this flashlight.Customer Review: Great task light!

Bought two of these after reading the reviews and my need to keep a small task light in my bag for work. Since I travel quite a bit, I was looking for something small, yet bright enough to illuminate areas and items I examine for inspection purposes.
Comparing the brightness of the Streamlight Stylus to a AA Minimag (with LED conversion), I'd say the light output is relatively comparable (if not slightly brighter). Mind you, this light is running on two AAA batteries with the Minimag is running on two AA batteries! The functionality of this light is perfect for traveling, to keeping it in your night stand, to throwing it in your car glove box.
