Weighing 12.8 ounces, the Streamlight Stinger DS LED Flashlight is 8.85 inches long, 1.17 inches in diameter at the body, and 1.62 inches in diameter at the head. The Stinger DS features three brightness levels: producing 180 lumens of light for two hours at the highest brightness, 95 lumens for three hours and 45 minutes at the medium brightness, and 45 lumens for seven hours and 15 minutes at the low brightness. The strobe function has a run time of up to five hours and 30 minutes.
The rechargeable three-cell, 3.6-volt sub-C nickel-cadmium battery (included) saves you time and money and can be recharged up to 1,000 times (charger included). It will steady charge in ten hours, or in two and a half hours on an optional fast, or PiggyBack, charger.

Optimized electronics provide regulated intensity, and the deep-dish parabolic reflector produces a tight beam with optimum peripheral illumination to aid in navigation. The C4 LED is impervious to shock and has a 50,000-hour lifetime.
Multi-Function Push Button for Convenient Operation
The Stinger DS feature dual-switch technology. Designed for long life and tested at one million actuations, the multi-function, on/off push-button switches are located at the head and tail cap. Convenient and easy to use, each switch independently clicks through all light modes--high beam, medium beam, low beam, or strobe.

Customer Review: Bill a Geek for "Quality Flashlights"

O.K. Folks... Some of us are into things that well, quite honestly, do not interest everyone. However, if you happen to have an interest in, enjoy, or need "quality" Flashlight products as I do, here is some information that you may perhaps find useful. The Streamlight Stinger C4 DS LED Rechargeable Flashlight is one of -if not- the best Flashlight Lighting Product of its type, in current times. After owning a business that included selling "Quality" Lighting Products of several Brand Names, to Safety Forces, Outdoors People, Military personnel and other Flashlight Geeks for the past 18 years, (and just recently retired) this unit by Streamlight hits the mark. Its three (3) intensity Brightness settings work well. Its strobing capability make it a useful Weapons/Defense light to allow those extra seconds to evade or take action against an Attacker. It has two Switches (Top & Rear), a non-slip Rubberized Tube/Handle, anti-roll Hex-Rubber Cover for the Lens if you desire, Perfect Beam, a variety of Charger Types (Single, Double, Piggy-Back, Hard Wired, AC/DC, etc.). Its LED Beam is a perfect solid circle that shines far, and does not "cut-off" as many other HID/LED type devices do. The Battery for this model still utilizes NiCad vs. Lithium Ion - this is both a plus and minus. The NiCad's provide "high current on demand", will let you know when the Battery needs a charge via dimming light output, and there is too much mis-information regarding their so called "memory" problem. Use-em, keep-em charged after use, NO problems, and they last a long time - often better than NiMh. Carbon Zinc, Alkaline, NiCads, and NiMH all primarily work off "current" flow from their Chemical Reaction of the Electron Charged Paste Material used. Lithium Ion Batteries provide a more even flow of current, last a little longer, and typically have a longer usage and shelf life. However, LI's primarily work off of "voltage" vs. current. Hence when a LI Battery falls below a certain internal voltage, they simply stop working. Same thing happens with Cordless Power Tools, the Pocket Flashlights using Lithium CR123A Batteries, or Lithium Ion Rechargeable Batteries - suddenly they do not work, even with Incandescent Lamps vs. LED's. All this being said: This Streamlight DS Stinger LED is a Power House, keep the NiCad charged, it is a Belt & Holster type Flashlight - really too big for a pocket - the pricing goes up to nearly $140 from Amazon for the Piggy-Back Fast Charger Model which includes two (2) batteries. Highly Recommended, the Flashlight itself is even esthetically appealing, its worth the money. WMB
